Thirty-three years ago he met, in Rome, the great master of international abstract art Alberto Burri. Our friendship enlightened me for the rest of my existence. The series of abstract paintings, which I painted for a new stage of my art, are inner emotions concretized in painting. My inspirations arise from the contemplation of a sunset, from the observation of a tree bark, from the colorful back of a tropical fish, from the polychromy that can be perceived from the windows of a moving train. The pictorial references are multiple, from Destael's abstractions to Rothko's Zen spiritualism. Abstraction is also a sound perception that materializes in color. A cello makes you see purple, a flute a blue, a horn an orange, a violin a bright red. A wall weathered by time evokes deep emotions. Inside the gaze of a Tibetan monk I see the enlightenment that makes you create. An alchemy of matter. .
