Apulian Pottery Red-Figure Handled Lekythos

**First Time At Auction**

Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A petite wheel-thrown lekythos with a footed base, bulbous body, rounded shoulders with a slight pinched neck base, a tubular neck, flared rim, and a single applied loop handle conjoining shoulder to neck. The majority of the vessel displays a lustrous layer of glossy black, characteristic of Apulian pottery, with a large palmette leaf in the center of the body. A lovely and diminutive example! Size: 2.75" H (7 cm).
