Apulian Pottery black guttus, 12 cm

Greek guttus were used as cups for scented oils together with the Lekitos and Askos. They were used in the Palestra, (the Greek school of fight) as well as in the table or in the sacrifices. This black varnished guttus is beautifully decorated on top with a circular plant motif.
