Japanese metal vase of archaistic form, with a rounded body, tall, flared neck, paired pierced side handles and an octagonal foot. A raised band of scrolling relief ornament encircles the shoulder of the body. The dark, variegated surface has a weathered patina with greenish and reddish areas. The vessel appears to be cast metal, possibly bronze;

Condition Report:
Visible surface wear, scratches, mottled discoloration and patina throughout. The relief band has areas of rubbed or softened detail and scattered pale residue or oxidation. The neck-to-shoulder junction appears irregular, with visible roughness and possible old joining or casting irregularities; no repair can be confirmed from the photographs. No obvious major breaks are visible. The underside and interior show additional dark and greenish discoloration.
