There are represented in 40 beautiful double-page plates, each with numerous illustrations, different architectural and sculptural monuments, buildings, coins, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan, Indian, etc. The 3 synoptic tables at the end of the text refer to descriptive schemes the history of Greek art from the beginnings up to Fidia, then up to Apelle and then up to the age of Alexander the Great.
