Unique collection, numbering 22 letters sent to the Land of Israel by the Jewish Agency's Va'ad Hatzalah and others, with extensive reports covering the condition of the Jews in the various European countries. Most of the letters were sent by the EretzYisraeli delegation in Constantinople (Istanbul).

The letters include:

* First reports of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising: "The Warsaw ghetto has bravely been fighting the S.S. for nine days and the Wermacht, the siege, and the bombings continue; the ghetto is in flames, women and children are being burned alive, the Jewish fighters are causing heavy losses to the enemy, burning German weapons factories and warehouses. The enemy has lost a thousand casualties and wounded ... in the name of millions of killed Jews, in the name of the burned and the murdered, we desperately need help from the world ..."

* Translation of a telegram from 22.5.43 about the second piece of news from the Polish government-in-exile, "The Jewish fighting organization shows supreme heroism ... German cruelty is terrible ... many are being burned alive ..."

* 4-page letter, one of the famous letters from Rabbi Weissmandl that shouted about the events of the Holocaust in its early stages. Written by "one of the rabbis" (apparently Rabbi Weissmandl) who hid in a cave near Lvov, with a report of the special situation of Hungarian Jewry and of the situation of the destruction in general, and at the Auschwitz camp in particular. Such that "every day, approximately 12,000 people are being deported, with up to 70 people standing in each carriage, with neither bread nor water; with no means of hygiene ... these are the transports going now from Tshop ... to Auschwitz (Oświęcim). They arrive at Oświęcim after a journey of 2-3 days, without air, food, water, hygiene, body against body, ... they enter for the purpose of showering, and they are suffocated by cyanide gas, 2000 in each hall, each and every day. The bodies are burned in designated crematoria ... They only leave a small number of capable men and women, to sort the clothes and belongings of those killed ...

From his report on the horrors of the Holocaust, he moves on to pleading and demanding from world Jewry and the leaders of the free world: "... we implore and plead and demand and appeal to you to do something immediately ..." He requests from world leaders that they warn the Germans that what they are doing to the Jews is known to them, and that they warn them to stop it. He requests from the pope that he warn the "ministers and people of Hungary" to work with the (International) Red Cross to warn Germany that if they don't permit a Red Cross delegation to visit the camps, Germany will be removed from the organization, and more ...

* Lengthy and bitter letter from Yoel Brand, in which he complains about the lack of progress. He relates that he slept only 16 hours over the past six days; he reports about the various advancements.

Many reports including detailing the situation of European Jewry, such that it is written in March '43 that in their estimation, half of Dutch Jewry has been wiped out, and that in Antwerp, there are almost no Jews. In February '45 it was reported that the number of Jews in Budapest is 100,000, but there are no Jews left anywhere else in Hungary; in Slovakia, there are approximately 15,000 Jews, and in Poland, only 90,000 Jews remain. And more.

Aside from these, the letters include status reports of the movement's members, so there is a letter announcing that contrary to what was published, Tzivia Luvatkin and Tosia Altman are still alive, and later there is a letter that Tosia Altman was killed, but Eliezer Geller is alive.

The letters include many appeals for financing so that rescue efforts can continue, including a letter signed by Ehud Avriel, Menachem Bader, Akiva Levinsky, Shaul Meirov, Ze'ev Hadari (Wenja Pomeranz) and David Tzimner.

Most of the letters are signed by Wenja (Ze'ev Hadari) and also signed by Teddy Kollek and others.

Moderate condition, many tears and stains.
