Argentina Zamora (Argentine, b.1948), Tango Gris
Argentina Zamora (Argentine, b.1948), Tango Gris
diptych, acrylic and collage on canvas, signed "AZ" to upper right corner, 1986, each side presented in uniform framing.
DOA 61.5 x 61.5 (each)
Zamora's painting is anchored in its South American roots and is based on pre-Colombian traditions and Spanish political strife. This combination creates tension in her work. The mixture of Indian and European influences is always obvious in her work: the expressiveness of the colors, the wildness of the gesture, the alienating forms, everything tends to create hallucinatory realities that compete with each other. Argentina has exhibited in many group and solo shows globally since 1973.
The Collection of Mr. Duggins and Mr. Dunn, High Point, North Carolina
Additional high-resolution photos are available at www.lelandlittle.com
Condition Report: Good estate condition, with a few minor small areas of paint loss, not examined out of the frames.
