Armada Chest - Strongbox - Treasure Chest - with Lock Bar - Iron (wrought) - 17th century
17th Century Armada Chest / Strongbox (circa 1680) from Germany. This more than 300-year-old box contains 2 keys, from the chest and the inner vault. Both locks are still working very smoothly What makes this box unique is the lock bar, this is a rare part that was not always made. The handy thing about a slot bar is that you only need one lock and it's a handy tool to turn the key around (see photo) . Personally, I used the box to store exclusive wines and open the strongbox on a special occasion. It is a real conversation piece. In very good condition, given its age. The box has small signs of wear as can be expected with an item of more than a hundred years old Dimensions: width 73 cm x depth 38. 5 cm x height 39 cm Delivery: It is possible for me to pack the box on a pallet. Transport must be arranged by the buyer.
