Armchair - Wood - Savonarola chair
Carved Wooden X-Frame / Savonarola Armchair with Lion Heads
Important and highly decorative X-frame armchair inspired by Renaissance Savonarola and curule chairs, entirely made of wood and distinguished by elaborate craftsmanship.
The chair features the characteristic crossed-frame construction, creating an elegant and architectural silhouette. The backrest and seat are made of numerous curved wooden slats, while the structure is supported by robust crossed elements ending in elongated feet.
The armrests are the most striking decorative feature. Their ends are decorated with finely carved lion heads, including detailed manes, eyes and facial features. The lion motifs give the chair a monumental appearance and recall the decorative language of historic ceremonial furniture.
The upper backrest is particularly elaborate, featuring a large carved panel decorated with scrolls, foliage and ornamental motifs, centred by a circular medallion. The decoration has a distinctly Renaissance/Baroque-inspired character, reinterpreted as a decorative piece of furniture.
The wood has a warm brown tone, with visible grain and a polished finish that enhances the carved details.
A distinctive and characterful piece, suitable for classical interiors, antique-style rooms, studies, entrance halls, representative spaces or eclectic interiors.
