Armchair and Ottoman Vico Magistretti for Cassina

Chaise Lounge Vico Magistretti designed for the Cassina and Busnelli factory in the 1970s. The armchair by Vico Magistretti is complete with its ottoman covered entirely in dark brown leather. The armchair by Vico Magistretti is the first edition of the famous Maralunga, known for its backrest with rabbit ears, i.e. that can be adjusted at will. Warm, enveloping forms accentuate the luxurious comfort of this designer armchair; comfort is also ensured by the bicycle chain mechanism for adjusting the position of the headrest incorporated in the foam cushion. Maralunga is an iconic armchair in Cassina's iContemporanei collection, the work of architect and industrial designer Vico Magistretti. Winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 1979, Maralunga is the materialisation of the very idea of comfort, thanks to the variation of the headrest to obtain a high or low backrest version obtained by inserting a simple bicycle chain in the foam of the backrest.
