Despite being created back in 1958, the Swan armchair is always contemporary among the cult items designed by Arne Jacobsen to furnish the hall and rooms of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Characterised by an unmistakable curvilinear shape, it is still in production at Fritz Hansen's and retains the charm of the best Nordic design. Swan was originally the perfect chance to experiment with new forms, and today it is still a chair expressing cutting edge technology, with a moulded exterior in synthetic material on an aluminium swivel base, a layer of foam enveloping the rigid shell, which is then upholstered with a leather or fabric coating. An ideal seat for living rooms and general home decor, its personality is also suitable for all waiting and meeting rooms. The lot in this auction, with light blue/turquoise fabric, is part of a set of 4 pieces found in a house in Milan. Used item in very good condition.
