To be offered on Friday, 10 May 2024
Since the origin of the firm as a design consultancy before producing its own cars, Porsche has engaged in successful partnerships throughout its history. The image of a classic 911 with skis fixed to a rack has forever associated the marque with winter sports.
In 1970, Porsche formed a partnership with Arova to produced the 212 Skibob. A skibob is best described as a cross between a bicycle or scooter and skis. The user sits atop the skibob, and using the handlebars and leaning they steer themselves down the slope.
It is believed that just a few hundred were made and ever fewer survive today making the Arova-Porsche 212 Skibob an incredibly rare site on the piste.
