Art Deco Curved Red Lacquer Bookcase by Paul Laszlo This spectacular custom bookcase was designed by Paul Laszlo (1900-1993) in the late 1930s for his home in Beverly Hills, California. The beautifully refinished red lacquer case sits on a conforming indented black lacquer base. Time Magazine called Laszlo “The Millionaire’s Architect” and is known for designing for Bullock’s Wilshire, Ronald Reagan, Gary Cooper and the Vanderbilts. He was also famous for rejecting clients such as Elizabeth Taylor and Barbara Streisand. The top is 9” wide.
