Cataloger Note: Antique sterling silver pedestal compote by Whiting Manufacturing Co., featuring a wide, shallow bowl with deeply fluted, pleated decoration and a scalloped rim. The naturalistic pedestal is modeled as intertwined water lily stalks rising to a cluster of emerging flower buds beneath the bowl. The circular base is embellished with three large applied lily pads, reflecting the organic floral motifs characteristic of Art Nouveau design. Total weight: 1,062 grams.
