Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Sumer, ca. 3000 BCE; Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE; East Asia, China, Warring States Period, ca. 476 to 221 BCE; Roman, Holy Land, ca. 1st century BCE to 2nd century CE. A starter pack of 4 artifacts from around the world. First is a Sumerian clay tablet fragment with bits of cuneiform text still visible. Next is a Luristan bronze spear/arrow head, and third is a Chinese warring states bronze arrow point with an iron tang. The largest is a Roman Holy Land oil lamp with charring on the wick spout indicative of use. Size of largest (lamp): 3.5" L x 2.1" W x 1.5" H (8.9 cm x 5.3 cm x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: private Rockville, Maryland, USA collection, acquired via descent; ex-Craig Rath collection, acquired from the 1980s - early 1990s
