The Chiurazzi artistic foundry was an Italian art foundry active in Naples between the 19th and 20th centuries.
The foundry specialized in life-size reproductions of classical and Renaissance sculptures from which casts were made using the lost-wax bronze casting technique.
The foundry's activity was recognized internationally with the awarding of various prizes, including the gold medal at the New Orleans and Turin exhibitions of 1884 and the special recognition at the Saint Louis exhibition of 1904.
The Riace Bronzes represent the strength and elegance of ancient Greek culture. The first sculpture shows a Greek warrior in a vigorous battle stance, with well-defined muscles and a determined gaze, ready for action. The second sculpture, however, portrays a relaxed athlete, with a slender figure and a feeling of liveliness.
