Arts and Crafts Quarter Sawn Oak Library Desk with Stickley Chair

Stickley style library desk and Stickley side chair, both constructed of quarter-sawn oak. The desk features two side shelves on each end supported by decorative vertical slats with geometric cutouts and a long open horizontal stretcher shelf near the floor. Square, dark-toned metal caps are mounted to the tops of the four corner posts. The chair is tagged Quaint Furniture Grand Rapids Mich on the underside and features a shaped top rail with a heart-shaped cutout positioned above three vertical slats. The seat is contoured for comfort and supported by square legs joined by H-stretchers. Desk: 28 1/2" H x 45" W x 27" D. Chair: 37 1/2" H x 16" W x 16" D. Seat height 18 in.

Condition Report:
The desk top shows moderate surface wear including scratches, finish loss, and several circular water rings. A vertical crack is present on the left side of the bottom shelf near the joinery. The desk legs show minor scuffs, and a small chip is visible on the lower portion of one decorative side slat. The chair displays finish wear and darkening on the seat and top rail, with horizontal scratch marks across the vertical back slats.
