Ashcroft New York Brass Porthole Ships Clock

[ translate ]

Ashcroft New York Brass Porthole Ships Clock, serial number 3365 on the dial under the hinged bezel, 8 inch diameter dial, 9.75 inches overall diameter x 2.75 inches deep, signed dial, clock appears to have a somewhat copper patina, with copper patinated brass bezel key and brass or copper bolts, winding key and smaller adjustment keys absent, works wound smoothly with our shop key not included, clock worked and seconds dial worked however not timed for accuracy or guaranteed as to operating condition, vintage to antique circa WWI to WWII. Note that our online research indicates some Ashcroft ships clocks have Chelsea or Howard movements but we have not removed the dial however the rear of the clock shows four threaded holes fitted with bolts from the interior mounting the movement that may be indicative of the manufacturer of the works.
Condition Report: Winding key and smaller adjustment keys absent, works wound smoothly with our shop key not included, clock worked and seconds dial worked however not timed for accuracy or guaranteed as to operating condition, we are not specialist clock sellers however we advanced the dial past 3 and 4 oclock and no bell sounded so we assume not a chiming model, dial wear with most of brass plating absent from recessed numbers, glass has be expoxied so unknown if crystal original, bezel key takes some manipulation to unlock.
