Wooden statue of Baoule representing a woman with a small crest of hair at the top of the head, engraved with a series of lines. The face is elongated and protrudes forward at the level of the mouth and the chin. The eyes are large and placed under an arched forehead. Under the long nose, a small mouth. The body arches slightly forward and has prominent breasts and scarification marks on the belly. The arms are bent at the elbow with the hands resting on the sides of the stomach. Mounted on a custom support. Usu Asia is a bush spirit or nature. These pieces are worshiped outside the village to attract protection and the blessing of the deities. These tribal art statues serve as a place of residence for spirits. The more beautiful and well carved they are, the more the spirit will be content to come and live there.
