[ translate ]

Yaacov Agam
b. 1928
Aspect Double

signed, titled, dated Paris 74 and inscribed Agam to Eugene, Agam to Eugene 1980 and Paris 1980 Agam Pour Eugene on the reverse
oil on aluminum mounted to artist's formica base
Overall: 19⅞ by 19¾ in. (50.5 by 50.2 cm.)
Executed in 1974.

Condition Report:
This work is in good and sound condition overall. All elements are present and stable. There is minor general wear to the surface of the aluminum center, including light soiling with associated areas of scattered minor accretions and pinpoint losses, visible upon very close inspection. There are various hairline cracks to the artist's formica base, most stemming from the upper and lower ridges of the aluminum center, and extending to the extreme upper and lower edges, visible upon close inspection. There are minor losses to the extreme edges and corners of the artist's formica base, as well as unobtrusive small losses corresponding to the underside of some of the ridges along the upper and lower edges of the aluminum center, not affecting the face of the work. There are two minor losses to the red pigment in the lower right quadrant, the first located at 1½ in. from the right edge of the aluminum; the second located 2 in. from the lower edge of the aluminum, visible upon close inspection. There are scattered areas of raised hairline cracks to the white painted passages on the aluminum center, most notably to the left half of the work, visible upon close inspection. Upon further inspection of these hairline cracks, there is an associated pinpoint loss along the left edge of the aluminum center, 3 in. below the upper edge, visible upon close inspection. Under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of restoration.
