French, late 19th/early 20th century, each with elaborate brass inlay on faux tortoise ground, ebonized bandings, bronze mounts, felt lined playing surface with boulle surround, both fully finished on backs, closely matched, one slightly larger and set with a chariot scene centered on top, 30-3/4 x 34 x 17-1/4 in.; smaller with foliate scrolls, 29 x 34 x 18-1/2 in. - Provenance: Collection of Dr. Joseph T. and Gaile E.
