Large coffee table in golden straw marquetry, radiant sun design, organic line with gold metal legs with original patina. Original piece from the 1960s consisting of straw marquetry. Origin: France. Straw marquetry is a technique imported to France in the 17th century from the East and had great importance during the first half of the 19th century, almost forgotten until during the Art Deco period, when it was rescued by great decorators of the stature of J. M. Frank, Jean Royere or André Grault who made it shine again. Today it is a craft technique highly appreciated for its decorative value of exclusivity and respect for the environment.
