'An elegant couple resting with their hunting hounds beside a fountain', unsigned. The painting is mentioned in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the paintings by Jean-Pierre Norblin de la Gourdaine by the art historian Konrad Niemira. Niemira mentiones the existence of another painting with a very similar composition formerly attributed to Jean Frédéric Schall (1752-1825), but the painting style differs from that of the current painting.
