"I had a studio in Positano for ten years. Every morning when I got up I saw the sun... I said everything no!? (..) Until the age of thirty I worked with handicapped children, in prisons, in asylums, victims of war, to the point that the President of the Republic Sandro Pertini awarded me Knight and gold medal of the Republic. I must say that this long phase has brought me a strong somatization that even for a year has not made me paint. From there I began to understand, also thanks to a trip to southern Italy that led me first to Puglia, then to Sicily and Campania, that the sun, light and color are life."
