Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. Published Under the Direction of the Honorable Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War. Although lacking a title page, this atlas was compiled by Major George B. Davis, US Army, Mr. Leslie J. Perry, Civilian Expert, Mr. Joseph W. Kirkley, Civilian Expert, Board of Publication. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1891-1895. Two Volumes. Oblong folio, three-quarter leather over maroon cloth, beveled boards, gilt outlines of leather, four spine bands, gilt lettering, marbled endpapers. Each with New York binder's label mounted on inside front cover. The large volumes contain the complete group of 175 maps, panoramic views, charts, illustrations, and more that were produced to accompany the Official Records of the Civil War. Each map is linen backed. Volume I includes Plates 1-88; Volume II includes Plates 89-175.
Unusual to find these intact and in this condition.
Condition Report: Some wear to binding, especially near corners, edges, with some minor loss to leather. Interior pages very good overall - some with areas of minor foxing.
