Attributed to Matthaus Merian, Swiss, 1593-1650. Etching on watermarked paper (possibly a Foolscap) depicting a village scene with figures in the foreground. No signature or other markings. Paper has been cut down, paper shows wear around edges, some fading and discoloration at the upper corners where taped. Plate is 6 3/8 x 4 5/8" h, in a wood frame with berry and leaf motif, and some damage, 14 1/2 x 12 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $300-500
