Oil on panel depicting an interior with woman lying down, signed A. Toro on bottom left. Attilio Toro, painter born in Naples in 1892 and deceased in 1982. He was trained under his father Carmine Toro, and then enrolled in the academy of fine arts where he was noticed by Carlo Siviero, who gave him the opportunity to become an assistant to the chair of painting, but the boy refused the proposal to have full freedom in continuing his artistic path. Famous for his portraits, he participated in many official exhibitions, including "Salvator Rosa". In 1940 he was awarded by the International Colombus Association. Towards the end of his career the "istituto grafico editoriale italiano” in Naples published, with Raffaele Rubino, the volume "Attilio Toro". The painting is in excellent condition, no restorations or retouches emerged under Wood’s lamp. The buyer will receive a complimentary frame (not pictured) . It being a gift, we do not accept any complaints regarding damage to the frame caused by shipping.
