An attractive Egyptian alabaster cosmetic jar, Early Dynastic, c. 2920 - 2575 BC, carved in beautifully banded stone, with rounded shoulders and tapered foot, the rim is wide and the interior is roughly hollowed out. Ex Devon, UK private collection acquired in the 1950's - 60's, thence by descent.
