Attractive Jumeau Bebe.

This very pretty 17" (44cm) closed mouth bisque socket head doll is stamped in red on the back of the head "Depose TETE JUMEAU 7" with smooth complexion, attractive blue-gray paperweight eyes, closed mouth with the slight illusion of a space between the lips, nicely highlighted, and pierced ear lobes. On the original fully jointed French wood and composition body with original patina stamped in green on the back torso "BEBE JUMEAU DIPLOME D'HONNEUR". This doll is attractively dressed in a peach pleated silk and lace costume of 1890's style, with brass pin, a well-made but newer blond mohair wig, black leather shoes, and black knit stockings which are old but not as old as the doll. There is an old faint hairline crack emitting from the rim opening and traveling horizontally almost to the outer corner of the right eyebrow. It is not very dark, and with wig in place it is invisible. The cork pate is well made but is new. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 18" x 7" x 4".
