Attributed To Barbedienne - Pair Champleve Neo Grec Candelabra - Napoleon III - Champleve, Ormolu & Bronze - 19th Century, Circa 1870

A fine and impressive pair of rare candelabra attributed to Ferdinand Barbedienne, circa 1870, in the Neo-Grec style. The pair of made of Champleve Enamel, Ormolu and Bronze . These are not signed but are attributed to the Barbedienne foundry (a common practice for many bronze foundrys not to sign all of the items) . The candlesticks comprise of three branches, with three swags of chains; the chains can either be used for ornamental use or to place around each of the candles. The bases of each candelabra rest if three zoomorphic monopodia feet / hooves in the Neo Grec style, a significant influence for Bronze foundrys during the 19th century, such as Barbedienne. Condition: Overall condition is excellent considering their grand age and usage.
