Condition: Heavy surface grime, drying cracks and craquelure, tenting, flaking, scattered minor accretions, scattered minor retouch, lined, stretcher replaced.
N.B. This painting was reviewed via digital photographs by the RKD (Netherlands Institute for Art History), which suggested the attribution to Alexander van Bredael (Flemish, 1663-1722). In addition to the "AB" monogram, the painting shares many similar qualities to his works, including the composition scheme and the figure and animal types, although they noted that the artist tended to portray landscape in a more Italianate style.
