The present scene exists, though with slight variations, in an engraving dated 1828, which was included as plate 48 in George Cooke's Views in London and its Vicinity, published in 1834.
Condition report:
50 x 57cm framed
Oil on metal plate. There are a few losses at the edges of the paintings. Overall the paint layer is stable but is worn and abraded in areas. Areas of retouching are reasonably well matched to the original. There is some reinforcement of the ship at the left. The varnish has yellowed with age but is even and glossy overall.
