Condition Report:
The canvas has a firm lining, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear. Some of the darker tones in the background and foliage seem to have slightly sunken and lost definition with age. Areas of discoloured retouching are visible along all four margins. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the above and further reveals lines of retouching, some of which are discoloured, scattered in the central section of the sky. Two darker areas of restoration are visible in the foreground to the right of the sheep. Small pin prick areas of restoration are also visible in the group of animals lower centre. The painting is in overall fairly good condition.
