Note: This portrait has been considered by some as an unfinished portrait possibly executed by Gilbert Stuart during the period between 1775 and 1793 when he was in England and Ireland.

John Livingston I (1846-1886) immigrated from Scotland to South Australia where the family played a prominent part in politics.
