Attributed to John Crome (1768-1821) oil on panel - Scene on the Wensum in Norwich at Gibraltar Inn, 53cm x 40cm, in good carved gilt wood frame. Provenance: Sold Sotheby's, Bond St., Fine 18th & 19th Century Drawings and Paintings lot 155, 10th March 1965, described as John Crome painted circa 1812. Sold with copy of sale catalogue entry and accompanied by a letter from Sotheby's dated 17th November 1966 to Ivor Weiss, stating 'Lot 155 in our sale on 10th March 1965 fetched £600. It was, in our opinion, painted by John Crome - however it was in rather bad condition.'
