The sitter was reputedly banker to William of Orange.
Condition Report:
Relined. There is an area of repair approx. 10cm centre right in the background. Stretcher marks partially visible. Light craquelure and surface dirt throughout. A small area of loss approx. 2mm to the left framing edge. Inspection under UV reveals light scattered retouching throughout and a cloudy masking varnish which may be disguising the extent of retouching.
