The first subject relates to Taunay's celebrated oils of La Glória for which see P Corrêa do Lago, Taunay e o Brasil Obra Completa 1816-1821, Sao Paulo, 2008, pp.96, 116 and 138, P-4, P-9 and P-15. Corrêa do Lago also accepts a watercolour version of P-4, the only work on paper hitherto given to Taunay in Brazil (ibid. pp.180-81, A-1, measuring 26.5 x 37cm.)
