Condition Report:
Light surface dirt throughout. Rubbing to the framing edges. There are traces of a dirty brown varnish to the lower centre (visible in catalogue illustration). There are areas of light white scuffing to Fortune’s right arm and left foot. There is a small area of loss which has been over-painted to the right edge (approx. 3mm) and a small area of creasing to the sheet at the lower left corner which probably occurred when the work was laid to canvas. Inspection under UV reveals no evidence of restoration or repair.
