Catalogue Note:
The first Royal Oak was created in 1972 and designed by legendary watchmaker, Gérald Genta, who drew inspiration for its shape from a ship's porthole and completed its blueprints overnight. It was introduced as the world's first luxury watch in stainless steel, in the attempt to revitalize traditional watchmaking from the quartz crisis.

Released in 2015, this reference 2657 Royal Oak perpetual calendar grew to a larger 41mm case, within which Audemars Piguet placed their updated automatic calibre 5134. Made in four variations of pink gold and stainless steel, with an optional silvered or blue dial for each metal, this present example comes configured with a stainless steel case and silvered dial which truly celebrates the metal and its colour. What the wearer of this beautiful timepiece will also notice is an impressive lack of weight and depth, achieved by an expertly designed complicated movement.
