[ translate ]

CIRCA: 1958
REF.: 5610BA
CASE NUMBER: 13'593
CASE MATERIAL: 18K yellow gold
CASE DIMENSIONS: 34 mm diameter DIAL: Matte white with painted stick markers, Arabic 12 and 6 o'clock
MOVEMENT: Manual wind
FUNCTIONS: Time only
CALIBER: 2003

Designed as a pocket watch concealed within an authentic US twenty-dollar double eagle coin, with an expertly milled push button that blends in to the reeded edge of the coin. The push button releases the coin's spring-activated face to reveal a watch with white dial and yellow gold bezel. Crafted by carefully hollowing out the gold coin, the interior is beautifully decorated with perlage, a tradition for only the finest luxury mechanical movements. Crafting an ultra-thin watch with a mechanical movement and 32-hour power reserve, then masterfully inserting the watch and spring-loaded mechanism into the coin's interior is a rigorous art that can only be performed by a handful of the finest watchmakers in the world. The condition of this example is exceptional. According to the archives of Audemars Piguet, the present coin watch was completed on December 10, 1958.

Accompanied by an Audemars Piguet Extrait de Registre.
