Condition: Overall fine, slightly browned.
Description: Enfantin shows us here the idyllic picture of a pastorale with a resting shepherd with his animals in the shade of large trees in a wide landscape. In the front a watering place and two animals resting in the grass. Enfantin probably made this etching during his stay in Italy between 1825 and 1827. In Rome he had contact with artists such as François-Edouard Bertin and Camille Corot. In 1827, at the age of 34, he died in Naples.
