Auguste-Louis-Pierre Pérardel (born in 1788) who became a knight of the order here is a soldier who distinguished himself in particular at Wagram (1809) and was injured.

The Leonore base shows us that he was named a knight on April 3, 1814, the same day Napoleon was deposed by the Senate. This appointment was therefore not effective immediately but only in 1817. Louis XVIII being the sovereign and Pérardel a former soldier of Napoleon, the latter had to sign a form of oath of loyalty to Louis XVIII to receive his decoration, which he did.
