Condition Report:
The bronze is in good condition overall. The nuanced green brown patina with minor wear, in particular to the high points and minor scratches in some places, consistent with age and handling. The light green patina reappears under the light brown surface in several places, in particular to the high points, consistent with the handling of the bronze.
There is some minor vert-de-gris visible in some places in the crevices, in particular below the man's lower right thigh. Two vertical casting joints in high relief appear to each side of both figures, consistent with the plaster model.
Cast in 1945, this bronze belonged to the collection of the famous French play writer and actor Sacha Guitry.
