Conceived in marble 1886; this reduction conceived in 1904; this example cast in May 1914.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue critique de l'œuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme LeBlay under archive number 2012-3973B.

Condition Report:
This work is in very good condition. Rich dark brown patina. Some light surface dust in the deeper crevices. Some light rubbing to the patina in the extremities. A half-inch long scratch in the surface, approximately three inches below the male figure's proper left hand. A single pindot spot of impact to the female figure's proper left wrist.
