Originally conceived in 1885, this bronze was cast in April 1961.

The Comite Auguste Rodin will include this work in their Archives with a view to the publication of Rodin's critical catalog currently in preparation at the Brame & Lorenceau Gallery under the direction of Jerome Le Blay under the number 2023-70928.
