A handsome design rather like an oriental rug invites us to a 1910 exhibition of Islamic art and a music festival in Munich. Diez, a native of Nürnberg, taught art in Munich, and for a while served as president of the Munich Secession group. He was an early contributor to the influential art journal Jugend, which spawned the Jugendstil movement.
