Authentic 7/8thC Dvarati Buddha in terracotta or related material. looks to possibly have some repair/restoration, but in remarkably good condition for a 1200+ year old Buddha made of such a fragile material. Figure alone is 4.5 inches tall, 5.75 inches on custom stand. I've owned this piece 25+ years and finally had a stand made for it to properly display it. I've not seen another complete one like it in all that time. Country of origin could be Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, or Burma, as Dvarati culture touched parts of what are now parts of all of those modern day countries. I am putting under ?Cambodia?, as it looks like a prototype for some early Khmer Buddhist sculpture.
