Autobianchi - Stellina - 1963

[ translate ]

Autobianchi Stellina from 1963. 1 of the 502 built (how many are there still around?) This is rare one, even at international car meetings. The Autobianchi Stellina is a small spider with a rear 29 HP 767cc water-cooled four-cylinder engine built between 1964 and 1965 based on the chassis of the Fiat 600D. The car has a unique uni-body made of fibre glass built on a steel frame. It was the first Italian car with a fibre glass body and also one of the first in the world. Braking was controlled via drum brakes on all four wheels. The streamlined design was made by Luigi Rapi and the car was first presented as a prototype at the Turin Motor Show in 1963. The sale started a year later and there were only 502 built, production ended in 1965. Fiat launched that year a slightly larger model in the form of the Fiat 850 spider. Top speed: 115 km/h Cylinder capacity: 767 cc Maximum power: 32@4800 (HP@RPM) Number of cylinders: 4 Engine type: In Line Kerb weight: 660 kg Wheelbase: 2,000 mm Front track width: 1,160 mm Rear track width: 1,160 mm Width: 1,430 mm Height: 1,240 mm Imported from Switzerland and restored to its former glory. It was red, this was not original. We got the correct colour from the Autobianchi registry in Italy: Bianco Ghiaccio. The whole car was resprayed and restored to its former glory. No expense or trouble spared, originality was key. This Stellina (her name is Perlita) was built in 1963, this is one of earliest ones! Perlita is ready to enjoy the sun and surroundings with its new owner next summer. The car is in excellent condition and has a new periodic vehicle inspection valid for 2 years. Collection near Zeewolde, the Netherlands.
