Axe (3) - acacia wood and iron - Lozi - Zambia

Set of 3 Lozi Male Hand Axe. Zambia. Early 1900's Used in Warrior Initiation Process and Fighting Training. Both blade and head were used like it was supposed. Made of burnt acacia wood and carbonized iron. Dimensions between 40 and 49 per 21 and 22,5cm. Blade lenght from 14 to 15cm. In fine state despite the age. From private collection of Nuno da Marta Conceição (1876-1968) , Zâmbia. Pay very attention to pictures and look very well to the iron notches, marks and oxidation.
