Azurite Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts, Cochise Co., Arizona, USA "A cluster of slightly intergrown tabular crystals to about an inch and a half. Traded with Bryn Mawr College. From the Vaux collection. 62 gram weight includes the original oval black wooden stand it is on." - Rock H. Currier Fine mineral specimens, of which this is one, used to be displayed on custom bases, typically made of painted wood. This sharp and lustrous group of deep-blue Azurite crystals has retained the base it acquired when George Vaux owned it. Originally purchased from notable mineral dealer George English when he was located in New York City, this mounted specimen harkens back to a bygone era, probably sometime between 1893-1898. On display as part of the 2008 'American Mineral Treasures' exhibit at the Tucson show. The original George English label is also included. Overall Measurements: 2.0 x 2.0 x 1.2 inches (5.0 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Ex. Bryn Mawr College, Ex.
