Currier Fine mineral specimens, of which this is one, used to be displayed on custom bases, typically made of painted wood. This sharp and lustrous group of deep-blue Azurite crystals has retained the base it acquired when George Vaux owned it. Originally purchased from notable mineral dealer George English when he was located in New York City, this mounted specimen harkens back to a bygone era, probably sometime between 1893-1898. On display as part of the 2008 'American Mineral Treasures' exhibit at the Tucson show. The original George English label is also included.
